Another Nigerian woman was reportedly beaten to death by her
husband yesterday. Ronke Shonde was married to Lekan Shonde, and the couple had
two children - a boy and a girl.
On Friday morning, Ronke's body was discovered in her
home, but her husband was nowhere to be found. It is believed that
Lekan beat her to death during a domestic dispute and took off.
According to neighbors, the couple had a fight very early
that morning. A neighbor confirmed that he heard the couple arguing but didn’t
think it was going to lead to death.
Ronke’s body was discovered when the nanny arrived at 7am.
She found the house locked and Ronke wasn’t picking up her calls. Instead, Ronke's phone was switched off.
When the nanny looked through the window, she saw the couple’s
6 and 4 year old children crying, saying they couldn’t wake their mum up.
Neighbors
gathered and forcefully opened the door to find Ronke’s lifeless body on the
floor with blood gushing from her head. According to family friends, Ronke
suffered domestic violence in her husband’s hands for many years but refused to
leave the marriage.

I can't imagine what Ronke's mom is going through because I heard she also lost a son last year.
To all my ladies, please don't be silent if you're being abused in your marriage. The same goes for men. If your wife is beating you, please seek help. Don't lose your life because you're worried about what people would say.
