A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention since 2015.
The Judge said the bail was to enable the leader of the Biafra secessionist group to attend to his failing health as requested by his lawyers.
Justice Binta Nyako ordered Kanu to produce three sureties with N100 million each.
Kanu won't be given back his passport.
Justice Nyako barred him from being seen in a gathering involving more than 10 people as well as granting press interviews or addressing rallies.
Justice Nyako stated that Kanu could arrested if he violates bail conditions.
The Judge however refused the separate bail applications filed by three others being tried alongside Kanu.
Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose paid a surprise visit to the court to witness Tuesday’s proceeding.
