The whistle blowing policy of the Federal Government is paying off positively as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today stormed a residential building in the 7th Floor of a four - bedroom apartment at Osborne Towers located at 16, Osborne road Ikoyi, Lagos, where a humongous find of foreign currencies and Naira notes to the tune of $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m was uncovered.
The operation followed a whistle blower's confidential alert received by the Commission's Lagos office this morning regarding some noticed suspicious movement of bags in and out of a particular apartment in the building. According to the source, the movers of the bags, make believe that they bring in bags of clothes.
Another source who is conversant with the apartment of interest indicated that some woman usually appeared on different occassion with Ghana Must Go bags. " She comes looking haggard, with dirty clothes but her skin didn't quite match her outward appearance, perhaps a disguise", the source said.
On getting to the building, operatives met the entrance door locked. Inquiries from the guards at the gate explained that nobody resides in the apartment, but some persons come in and out once in a while. In compliance with the magisterial order contained in the warrant, the EFCC used minimum force to gain entrance into the apartment.
Monies were found in two of the four bedroom apartment. Further probe of the wardrobe by operatives in one of the rooms, was found to be warehousing three fire proof cabinets disguisedly hidden behind wooden panels of the wardrobe. Upon assessing the content of the cabinets, neatly arranged US Dollars, Pound Sterling and some Naira notes in sealed wrappers.
Preliminary findings indicate that the funds are suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activity.
The facility is said to be owned by Osborne Towers Resident Association.
Investigations are ongoing.

ReplyDeleteMy God.... Just look at the size of the foreign currencies and local currency found. Look what these people are doing to Nigeria. These are extremely wicked devils and not human beings i tell you. We all need to come together as one to get our voices heard and get the evil ones out of the system as much as we can instead of fighting each other and having tribal issues with one another (because thats what they want) forgetting that when they come to steal the money, tribe is not a factor for them at all because they put the tribe issue aside and suddenly have one language policy called stealing. In Nigeria, we currently have 99.9% serial corrupt people who call themselves politicians but don't understand the ethics of politics. We have blood thirsty people in the system who would go to any length to commit atrocities and would do anything to cover up their tracks which includes killings and ungodly things like the disgusting rituals they do that would still not save them because they seek powers from the devil. The reason why the bad ones have infiltrated the system is because many of us the good guys did not go in to the system to stop this while it was happening and did not want to get involved in politics because we were all scared of the minority who would do devilish things like attempting to kill the good to deter them from stopping them in their plans. Due to this act, many of us run away forgetting they are minorities in the system and said to ourselves "Hey i do not want to get involved in Nigerian politics because its dangerous and there are demonic people that would hurt or even kill you there". In as much as this is true, i also blame us for not flooding inside to rid the system off these type of people but instead, we chose to be scared and backed off. The result is what we are seeing now and its going to be very difficult to get these guys out without a fight or a revolution because these guys are in the TOP KEY POSITION AREAS of the country where they can easily cripple anybody who opposes them and they are holding firm and not letting go thus making them feel like wounded lions who are ready to attack to save themselves.
